Following the Herd (or HURD)
GNU started as a revolutionary concept that actually isn't so revolutionary. It was about retaining rights that developers had already enjoyed. The revolution was the licence and the software that adopted this licensing approach (copyleft, copyrights, the GPL etc.), imperiling attempts to "close down" or "bolt up" or "lock out" developers, users etc.
gnu.org is back online and it is responsive (it wasn't before). It still contains many lengthy articles about why Software Freedom matters.
The same day the RMS talk was supposed to take place but got canceled there was an attempt to cancel us too. If they cannot ban or illegalise particular messages, then they try to shut down the message forcibly.
Society advances owing to people who think differently and promote positive change, not corporate shills. █
