Microsoft's Collapse in the Web Server Space Continued This Month

posted by Roy Schestowitz on Mar 27, 2024

Microsoft is the "2%", just like Windows in some countries [1, 2, 3, 4]

Web server developers: Market share of all sites

THE March 2024 Web Server Survey is out and it notably says:

OpenResty experienced the largest gain of 3.0 million sites (+2.87%) this month, and now accounts for 9.73% (+0.24pp) of sites seen by Netcraft. Clownflare made a smaller gain of 2.0 million sites (+1.70%), resulting in the gap between it and OpenResty narrowing.

Microsoft's demise isn't mentioned at all in the summary (at about 2% of what's left of "the market" Microsoft barely matters), but further down in this survey we find:

Web server developers: Market share of the top million busiest sites

And also:

Web server developers: Market share of computers

Yes, Microsoft is in trouble and it is totally faking its worth while mostly losing money in many of its divisions. When will the bailouts stop?
