Most of the robot was made from an old, repurposed Anet A8 Plus 3D printer as Chris kept the existing X and Z axes while replacing the printhead with a custom toolhead. He swapped out the previous control circuitry in the printer for an Arduino Mega 2560 and combined the board with several stepper motor drivers. The gripper module was mounted to the X axis carriage and is responsible for picking up slides
[12:27] schestowitz from below and moving them into and out of the scanner to the side. Several sensors within the toolhead, including a pair of load cells and a time-of-flight module, assist in ensuring the robot doesnt collide with the scanner and potentially damage it.

Since I was unable to travel for a couple of years during the pandemic, I decided to take my new-found time and really lean into Rust. After writing over 100k lines of Rust code, I think I am starting to get a feel for the language and like every cranky engineer I have developed opinions and because this is the Internet Im going to share them.

[13:51] schestowitz Primary and Secondary Education Allowance
[13:51] schestowitz Publication on behalf of the The Hague Staff Representatives (LSCTH).

[13:51] schestowitz What to do if the education fees are below the entitlement threshold.
[13:52] schestowitz Dear colleagues,
[13:52] schestowitz As you may know, one of the amendments to Art. 71 Serv. Regs. (education allowance) concerns thethreshold for entitlement. In the new regulation, entitlement to the education allowance is now conditional on the education fees exceeding 500.
[13:52] schestowitz If you are in the situation of not being eligible since you pay school fees of less than 500, we would like to remind you of your right to file a request for review for the decision of depriving you of the right of having an education allowance.
[13:52] schestowitz The new Article 71 applies to all colleagues, irrespective of their nationality. Therefore, we remind the Dutch colleagues that under the new regulation, they are now fully entitled to receive a reimbursement of the school fees under Art. 71.Therefore, if you have school children and pay any fee to their school, we advise you to request that the administration reimburse the costs under Art. 71 Serv. Regs.
[13:52] schestowitz If the administration refuses to do so on the basis of the 500 threshold, or simply does notprovide the reimbursement within a 2-month time frame, then we recommend that you challenge this discriminatory practice and start a legal procedure by filing a request for review. You can find a template provided by SUEPO here.
[13:52] schestowitz Please contact us if you need further information.
