Microsoft Wants More Children

Summary: Microsoft uses states all around the world to indoctrinate the young and prepare the young to become Microsoft customers or be called "pirates"

THE developments of Microsoft in Bahrain are appearing again in this new report which shows Microsoft using a ‘DigiGirlz Day’ to take control of the education system. This has become so typical. This event is even organised by the Ministry of Education and Microsoft in conjunction, which only promotes the suspicion that the government is "in bed with" Microsoft. It's state-assisted indoctrination for a private corporation.

Looking elsewhere in the Middle East, Microsoft brings the Live@Edu scam to Palestinian schools with help from Microsoft Jordan [1, 2, 3].

On behalf of Microsoft Corp., Rula Ammuri, Microsoft Jordan Country Manager stated, "Microsoft partnered with the Ministry of Education of Palestine to deploy Live@Edu - a suite of no-cost, innovative online communication tools - at all public schools and educational institutions in Palestine, as part of our efforts to extend the reach of high-quality education to every student, no matter where they are. Our objective behind this partnership is to meet the technology demands of the education sector in Palestine and to ensure all Palestinian students have easy access to the latest software technologies."

Further east in the Gulf region, "Microsoft steps up action against software piracy," says this report.

Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) Gulf today announced that the UAE authorities have raided and confiscated several copies of allegedly pirated Microsoft€® Windows and Office software at a reseller store in the city. Following the raid, Microsoft and the reseller reached an out-of-court civil settlement.

It's just old propaganda that Microsoft is spreading these days. Microsoft gets children "addicted" to its software (Bill Gates' own words) and then labels them "pirates" who "steal". In June 2006, Gates admitted that "stolen's a strong word. it's copyrighted content that the owner wasn't paid for." So why does Microsoft keep saying "piracy" and "stolen"? Gates endorses these lies. He -- along with Microsoft -- criminalises the youth for greater leverage over their countries. Quite the extortion indeed.

Microsoft is trying to capture people while they are young and Microsoft Canada, whose bad behaviour we wrote about a great deal recently [1, 2, 3] (Gates invests in the Canadian government), is running some kind of a campaign [1, 2, 3] which specifically targets children.

Inspiration for the contest came from an Internet safety study conducted by Microsoft Canada and Youthography. The Public Service Announcements target pre-teens and teens across Canada to raise awareness about the hidden risks of an online presence.

These "pre-teens and teens across Canada" are the same young people who Microsoft is trying to criminalise by forcing them to use Windows and Office at schools (more on that in a later post) and this new story [1, 2] suggests that Mirosoft also criminalises adults who merely typo-squat Hotmail in a non-malicious way. Microsoft is being accused of "extortion", but the latest spin from IDG's Microsoft Subnet blog says that Microsoft mail is better and that Microsoft is reformed (more whitewashing of Microsoft crimes, just as we saw last week in IDG). Why is IDG entertaining this type of messages? Could it be its financial relationship with Microsoft? IDG is paid by Microsoft through advertisements and through IDC [1, 2, 3, 4, 5].

The programme that we call "American EDGI" is meanwhile proceeding with more coverage from Nevada where Microsoft escapes tax.

Nevada will join forces with Microsoft in a public-private partnership called Elevate America, which will provide free technology training to displaced workers.

This is state-funded Microsoft indoctrination disguised as "education" or "training". It's the same in California after Schwarzenegger sold out [1, 2] and updates continue to be published about it, including this one from Santa Clarita.

The city of Santa Clarita WorkSource Center, in cooperation with Microsoft Corporation, is now offering free "Elevate America" vouchers for e-learning training courses and select certification exams.

These are not "free" vouchers. It also says "e-learning", which probably indicates that there are no expenses involved other than bandwidth. Microsoft gets to indoctrinate the young and the unemployed without lifting a finger. It's utterly shameful that local governments support this.

"The danger is that Microsoft is using strategic monopolistic pricing in the education market, with the government’s assistance, to turn our state university systems into private workforce training programs for Microsoft."
